Natural way to bring Shine to your hair

This blog is dedicated to being natural and make the most of the natural resources. Now, a question to ponder upon; how much do we really make use of the nature around us like sun, water, food or wind? They are the best nourishment you can give to your body and yes, today's post is dedicated to some of these nature's forces and their benefits on hair.

Have you ever been on a walk out in the early morning at sunrise? If you have, you would know how serene, soothing and calm it feels. The breeze is relaxing and the sun invigorating. You do not need to exercise. You can just take a walk and enjoy the sun and wind. And, while taking walk, open your hair and let your hair also feel the sunlight and wind. Fresh air and sun in mild amounts are very beneficial to the health of the hair and its growth. Let every strand of your hair get sunlight and the air and see the difference in your hair. Your hair would also feel rejuvenated and lively. It will shine with all its health.

Next time you get out of the shower, let your hair air dry your hair in direct sunlight till it becomes just near to damp and finger comb your hair while you are at it. This would contribute to increasing the shine of your hair. But, always remember, do not over do it. Sun in excess quantities is really not good for hair or skin so keep it mild and enjoy the benefits. It also helps to promote hair growth.
Tip for straight hair people: Let your hair dry naturally in direct sun and finger comb while it dries. This would make your hair naturally wavy without styling it.

Use "Shaving Oil" to get rid of unwanted hair

I would like to share an absolutely fabulous home remedy today. Shaving Oil. This is to bring to kind attention of all people who like to shave, you can consider using a shaving oil instead of the shaving gels, creams or hair conditioners or whatever you use. And, you do not have to go and hunt for a shaving oil in the market. You can use any oil available in your kitchen. Be sure to use only vegetable oils or pure oils. It might sound weird for you to hear that we can use an oil as an alternative to shave. But, it works fabulously and gives a much cleaner and safer shave than any richly foaming hair conditioner or shaving creams.

What are the advantages of Shaving Oil over Shaving Creams and other products?
  • No chemicals. While shaving, any cream or gel might enter your body or react with your skin. It might give you rashes or allergies. Shaving Oil is nothing but a moisturizing ingredient so you would not feel any rash.
  • Oil moisturizes your skin well so there is no dryness which happens after shaving.
  • Oil helps the razor to glide smoothly so it gives a much cleaner and closer shave. You would love the way your skin feels afterward. Also, you would not suffer from any nicks and cuts while shaving due to the smooth gliding motion
  • Oil can be used anywhere on the body safely. You can apply oil on your pubic area also without having second thoughts where as other methods (use of gels and creams) might cause allergic reactions on sensitive parts of the bodies and might become big problems.
  • You can easily shave a dense growth of hair too after applying the oil. There is a less risk of ingrown hair.
  • And, lastly, it costs much less so saves your pocket money or you can use the same money to buy something more worthwhile.
What is shaving oil made of?
I am not talking about a particular kind of oil which is known as shaving oil. By Shaving Oil, I mean using oil for shave. You can use any kind of an oil available at home which you are not allergic too. You may even mix 2-3 oils of your choice. The ideal oils for shaving are:
Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Almond Oil, Sesame Oil, Jojoba Oil, Castor Oil.
You may use them individually.
If you would like to blend more than one oil, you can pour equal quantities of all the oils you want to use in a jar for storage. Make an exception while using Castor oil as it is very thick. Always use half quantity of Castor oil as that of other oils.

How to shave using shaving oil?
  • Do not wet the body part you want to shave.
  • Apply the oil very generously over the area you want to shave and massage the area well for 5 minutes to make the hair soft.
  • Now, gently shave with the razor.
  • After the shave, you can take a bath. Do not use soap on the shaved area. Instead, use a cleanser to wash off the oil.
  • You may consider sanitizing your razor by boiling it in water.
I urge you earnestly to try this once. I have tried it and have fallen in love with it. This method gave me the smoothest shave ever in my life till now. And, the shaved skin does not hurt or irritate the way it used to earlier. I am looking forward to your comments about your experience with this method.

Lakme Vital Indulgence: Review

[Source: biotinhairgrowthresults.com]
I recently received a booklet of Lakme coupons for free and the coupons gave good bargain prices. So, I went to Lakme Salon a few weeks back to make use of the coupons. Vital Indulgence had struck me particularly so I opted for the service. I thought it must be a luxurious kind of a facial but instead it turned out to be a hair loss treatment. I, nevertheless, decided to go with the service as I have thin hair.
The treatment started with a hair wash using a hair fall control shampoo from Schwarzkopf, a German company. Then, the lady attending me blow dried my hair and gave me a high frequency scalp treatment. A high frequency (violet rays) current was powered with the help of a vacuum (pipet look-alike) tube. The power of the current was adjusted according to the body tolerance and the tube was moved along whole of my scalp for 5 -7 minutes. This high frequency treatment is believed to kill the bacteria on the scalp. The scalp infections or bacterial growth on the scalp is one of the main causes for hair loss and thin hair. The bacteria inhibit the healthy growth of your hair. The high frequency current also stimulates your hair follicles and helps in detoxification process of the follicles.

After that a hair growth serum, again from Schwarzkopf, was applied thoroughly on my scalp directly from the nozzle by partitioning my hair in different sections. This took around 10 - 15 minutes on me. And, I got a good massage starting from my scalp to the end of my back for around 15 - 20 minutes. It was pure heaven. After the massage, I was given an infrared radiation therapy for 5 minutes. The infrared light heats up the scalp and is able to penetrate to two inches in our body. This gives a deep conditioning treatment to the hair to ensure the complete absorption of the hair growth serum. And, finally, my hair was nicely styled.

And, if you are thinking about the potential effects of the high frequency current or infrared radiation therapies on the body, I can assure you that they are most commonly used therapies to eradicate scalp infections and promote hair growth. They do not possess any dangers to the human body. Infrared radiation, unlike the ultra-violet radiation, is used in the daily lives in forms of thermal radiation and is not cancerous. So, the Vital Indulgence treatment is perfectly safe and I can venture to say useful for people suffering from severe hair loss. I have taken only one sitting till now. And, it costs 800 Indian Rupees. The results may be visible after a certain number of sittings depending on the quality and condition of the hair.

Facial Massage for Anti-Aging Skin Care

I talked about home remedies for eye care last time in the anti-aging series. Today, I would like to share with you a simple trick of 10 minutes everyday which can take years off from your face. Facial Massage. When we massage other parts of our body, the muscles and bones react in a favorable way by becoming strong and firm. Then, why not apply the same principle for the face. It is important to keep the face bones strong so that the skin over these bones does not sag. Over years, mostly due to gravity, the skin on our body begins to get pulled down giving an aged look. To massage the face upwards will act as an action against gravity and will yield results in the long run.

How is the facial massage done?
  • Always wash your face before massaging it
  • Do not forget to wash your hands, fingers and nail beds
  • Apply a generous amount of oil preferably lighter in texture so that the fingers easily glide on your face
  • Use only two fingers - the middle and the ring finger to massage your face
  • Use upwards and outwards strokes towards and away from the cheek bones.
  • Massage on the eye area should be done only with the ring finger.
  • You can use any kind of an oil. Make sure that you are not using essential oils if you are pregnant. Coconut, Olive, Jojoba, Almond are the favorites.
The video will take you through a step by step process of facial massage.

    Olive Oil for Hair Growth

Olive Oil is an extremely useful product not only in culinary purposes but also in skin care and hair care. We have already talked about the role of Olive Oil in Oil Cleansing Method (OCM). We will talk today about the benefits of olive oil in hair care. Olive oil is extremely light and does not easily grease the hair. It makes hair smooth and shiny and is easily absorbed.
Method of application: Warm a little of olive oil and massage it into your scalp. Keep massaging your scalp for 20-30 minutes. This will ensure better absorption. You may steam your hair after that or put hotel towels on your hair just like in hot oil treatments. You can do this at night and wash off on the next day. A regular application of olive oil would kill all the bacteria and get rid of all scalp infections. And, it would promote healthy hair growth.
You can use 2-3 drops of olive oil to moisturize your hair instead of using a leave-in conditioner. This would not weigh down your hair and keep it healthy and free from split ends.

Scalp Problems: Home Remedies to get rid of them

Today, I would be discussing with you one more benefits of making Neem a part of your daily lives. Scalp problems are one of the main causes of hair fall, dry and dull hair or thin hair prone to lots of breakage. Dandruff, itchy scalp, redness in the scalp, dry scalp, acne on the scalp; these are some of the problems related to scalp which can be easily cured using neem leaves or neem water or even oil.
    • Use neem water as a rinse after every shampoo. Let your hair air dry.
    • Mix neem water and lemon juice and massage into scalp. Let stay for 30 minutes. Wash off. You need not follow it with a shampoo. A simple rinse would be fine. This is a cure for dandruff.
    • As we all know that neem leaves are extremely good for acne on skin. So, make a paste of neem leaves and apply on the skin. Let it stay for 30 minutes or till it dries off. Wash off. Regular application (two times a week) should show results in a month. It would also cure itchiness and irritation in the scalp.
    • You do not have to go and take high frequency treatments to kill bacteria in the scalp. Mix neem and olive oil and massage into your scalp a night before you will shampoo your hair. This would kill all bacteria on the scalp.
    • If you do not get neem oil, you can put lot of neem leaves in olive oil and leave under direct sunlight for a week or two. Shake the bottle everyday. This would infuse the essence of neem leaves in the oil. And, this would be equally effective. Always remember to buy a Cold Processed Extra Virgin Olive Oil (the purest form of olive oil). This is one of the healthiest ways to grow more hair on your head. You can use little warmed oil for massaging into your scalp.
    • You can mix neem water or neem leaves in various hair masks you make.
    • You can also use neem leaves while making the herbal shampoo.

Turn your regular shampoo into a homemade herbal shampoo

Today, I would be sharing with you a recipe which I have been using for long for my hair and believe me, it has done wonders. I no longer believe in buying hair products according to your needs like a hair fall shampoo as a solution to hair loss or a damage repair shampoo for a heat burnt hair. I have got rid of these things using simple home remedies and I would suggest you to practice them regularly to see quick and long lasting results. You can use tomato repair the dry dull hair or fenugreek for hair loss.  If you feel like, you can top your treatment with such fancy hair products too. They might do you some good, who knows!!!
Coming back to the topic, the recipe is very simple.

Ingredients (practically everything you think is good for hair and worth boiling in water):
    - Indian Gooseberry (fresh or sun-dried amla)
    - fenugreek seeds and leaves (methi)
    - curry leaves
    - sage leaves / basil leaves (tulsi)
    - hibiscus flower and leaves
    - mehendi leaves (henna)
    - jasmine flowers and leaves
    - rose petals
    - lavender and rosemary flowers (if available)

Method: Soak them all in two liters of water overnight. Boil next morning till water remains half of the original quantity. Let the water cool and then strain. You can use this directly as a shampoo but it would not lather. And, you might not get satisfied with it. So, take a fresh clean bottle. Pour your regular shampoo to a one-third quantity of the bottle. And, pour the liquid over it. Shake well. Your herbal shampoo is ready. Do not worry about diluting your shampoo. It is good for you as less number of chemicals are applied on your hair and your shampoo lasts longer. And, it will definitely give better results than the regular application. Do not judge it until you try this out. It might sound weird to some people. But, if you have ever heard, many people advice that one should dilute the shampoo with water to decrease the harshness of chemicals on the hair. I will request you all to give it a try. You can use a shampoo sachet for a trial. And, then, you can decide for your own self whether this shampoo will suit you or not. And, it surely does help in hair growth too.

Words of Caution: Please refrain from using any ingredient, which you already know, you will be allergic to. If you want to dye your hair some color, you can continue with using henna leaves. But, remember that though henna is conditioning for hair, it is extremely drying too. So, you can skip it. You may put some green tea (or your favorite flavor) too int he boiling water. Do not add anything which has short shelf life as it will spoil the whole recipe like lemon peels, soapnuts or shikakai. Use them fresh. You can use lemon juice as a hair rinse for shine. But, lemon causes hair to get dry. So, you might want to check that out. There are a lot of remedies for shiny hair.

    Benefits of Neem leaves

Today, I would be sharing with you some home remedies which use neem leaves. Neem is the best natural medicine available. It can take care of things from skin disorders to health problems. We will talk about the beauty aspects of neem.
    • I know this one is the most difficult. Chew everyday 2-3 leaves of Neem. I know it sounds disgusting. Believe me, it tastes really horrible. I have done it. At last, I could not bear to chew so I started swallowing the leaves. Wash them properly before in taking them. Do not boil them. A help would be take them with honey or jaggery. And, follow it up with a glass of water. Do not worry if you vomit in the starting days. Your body and taste buds will adapt gradually to it. And, the results are too good to ignore. In take of neem leaves would clean your system internally, improve the body metabolism and toxins elimination process. It would clean your blood of impurities and as a result, give you a clear skin. It even helps you get rid of constipation and improves your immune system.
    • You can boil neem leaves in water and pour the water in your bath tub or use it for bathing. It would get rid of all skin disorders gradually. It helps in getting rid of bacteria at private parts and even the repelling body odor.
    • If you get any skin allergy, boil the neem leaves and apply the water on the allergy after letting it cool. Chilled will work even better. It will soothe your skin. And, the allergy will subside in a day or two. Last September, I had got this severe allergy which my dermatologist could not even diagnose. It had subsided with application of neem water. You can even apply neem paste on your allergies. I think it should be more effective.
    • You can store the neem water in small batches and use it to make face packs. It would be great help with pimples and acne.
    • If you get hold of neem oil, it treats acne really quick. Applying neem oil keeps your skin safe from any bacteria and fungal infection.
    • Of course, I forget to mention. Chewing neem leaves would help with cleaning your teeth also. And, just in case, you are thinking that you can substitute neem leaves with neem water. Do not do that. Because, when you boil neem leaves, a strange pungent odor comes which will repel you from drinking the water. Surely, you would even lose you apetite, the odor is that strong.
    • You can make a neem face pack by grinding the neem leaves with some water. It is a great face mask for anti-bacterial purposes. It heals acne really quick.
    • In case of any nicks and cuts, injuries and skin burns, you can apply neem oil, neem water or neem leaves paste over it. It gives great relief.
    • Neem can also be a part of the refreshing face spray
    • Dry the neem leaves well under sun and powder them. Make small pouches containing the powder and put several of these pouches in your cupboards. Your cupboards would be free of moth infestation. And, you do not have to bother with changing the pouches everyday. They will work up to an year. You can replace them again after an year. You may put your favorite essential oil in the neem leaves powder to impart a pleasant fragrance to your cupboards and clothes.

    Are your salons hygienic enough?

Today, I would like to share with you a new article I read few days back. It talks about hygiene at salons. How much do we know about the cleanliness of the salons? Every thing that glitters is not gold. This cliche applies to the cleanliness of the salons too. Yes, we all go to the high class ones present at some posh area of the city and which charges accordingly for the services. But, what do we know about the lurking bacterias present in the wax used or the hair and skin tools.

The article says specifically that the wax should never be left open to air. It can attract a lot of bacteria which can enter during the waxing procedure. I read it after my visit to the salon and I remember distinctly that the utensil containing wax had been left open. Moreover, the hygiene practiced by the therapist. What if she has some bacteria on her hands. We all know that everyone is not used to the too hot wax temperatures on the body and everyone's body has a different adaptability. If you find that a therapist is not doing her services according to your comfort, immediately request a change. Or, better, never go back to the salon. It has happened with me and believe me, that shows its effect later. And, I am sure, many people would have faced this.

Many of the tools used are not disposable in the salons like the wash basins, hair combs and brushes, manicure and pedicure sets. And, God knows, how many times they have been used on what kind of people. So, prefer to carry your set of tools with you. Of course, you can not carry a wash basin. I am talking about manicure and pedicure sets and the hair combs and brushes and anything else according to the service you are getting done like a blackhead remover for a facial. The article stresses on the fact that maximum brunt is born by the people who get manicures and pedicures.
“A previous client could have had a wart or fungal infection and if the tools are not washed properly, the infection can get transferred,”
And, the best way to judge the cleanliness of the salon can be to have a look at the bathroom. So, next time you visit a salon, do not forget to use the bathroom and inspect it closely. After all, its going to be you who will suffer for any misgivings of the salon.

    Eye Care: Home Remedies

Last time, I talked about eye care. Today, I would like to talk to you about some home remedies which can help us combat problems like dark circles, puffy eyes and wrinkles.

    Dark Circles.
    • Place chilled slices of cucumber or Apple on your eyes and relax for 10-15 minutes. Do this daily and you will see results in a week or two.
    • Apply chilled tea bags or cotton balls to your eyes. They also work in same way.
    • Place chilled inverted tea spoons on your eyes.
    • Saturate cotton balls with chilled milk and place them on your eyes. Milk provides relief to your eyes, helps in lightening the color and cleanses the eye area gently.
    • Apply herbal tea (green tea preferably) on your eye area with cotton balls. This would also clean your eyes.
    Puffy Eyes.
    • Apply warm tea bags on your eyes.
    • Put a slice of freshly cut fig on your eye bags and see them disappear magically.
    • Slice of potato also works beautifully on puffy eyes.

Eyes: Take Care of them to look young

In the anti-aging series till now, I have talked about the importance of sunscreen to fight early aging and the notion of aging prevalent among us. Today, I would like to talk about Eyes. As we all know, they are among the first parts of our body to betray our age, if not given proper attention. Eyes give us a lot of trouble like dark circles, puffy eyes, wrinkles, crows feet and what not and make our life miserable. So, we will discuss about how to go on tackling them and achieve beautiful and bright eyes. You may have tried products on products to get rid of these problems but I am sure not many of you might have really found anything satisfying.

Dark Circles. The skin around the eyes is very thin. And, it has lots of blood vessels underneath which gives the skin around the eyes a naturally darker look. This darkness can be enhanced by factors like improper sleep or sleeping positions, dryness in the skin, heredity and many more.
      • I have stressed so much on the importance of drinking water or proper sleep. Start doing it today and experience some betterment in a week.
      • While sleeping, keep your head at a higher elevation so that the blood circulation is less in the face. This way, there may be a color lightening around the eyes.
      • Always splash your eyes nicely with cold water before sleeping and after waking up. This relaxes your eyes.
      • For those people who have dark circles due to hereditary factors, you can follow these steps but a permanent solution is not guaranteed.
Puffy Eyes. They are caused by excess water content around the eye areas. To reduce that, again I would advise you to sleep with head at a higher elevation. Now, you can reduce puffy eyes by taking care of your diet too.
      • Do not take excess of fluids at night, even water. Keep it to bare minimum.
      • Reduce the salt intake. Excess of salt in the body means increased capacity of retaining water. So, try to keep your salt intake to a minimum and try to reduce it everyday. Do not worry about the taste of food. It takes your taste buds only 15 days to get adapted to the new taste.
      • Reduce intake of sugar too.
Wrinkles. These are caused by dryness around the eyes or due to excess exposure to sun. They can also be taken care of through diet. You need a lot anti-oxidants in your body to fight the wrinkle causing free radicals.
      • Eat lots of green leafy vegetables, beans, olive oil, nuts and whole-grain bread.
      • Reduce the intake of meat and processed foods.
      • Also, reduce the intake of sugar. It is one of the causes of puffy eyes and pimples too.
      • Always go in sun wearing a sunscreen with an SPF of 15-30. Reapply every 2 hours.
      • Sleep on your back to avoid wrinkles. Sleeping on your sides puts pressure on your skin and creates wrinkles. Try a conscious effort to sleep on your back. I know it can be difficult for people who are used to curling up. But, its worth an effort.
      • If you do not wear glasses, get a pair of sun glasses with UV protection. They should have side covering too. This would prevent the entry of UV radiation anywhere near your eyes.
      • Do not squint. They are also causes of wrinkles.
      • Apply moisturizer on sunscreen on your eye area with your ring finger in a quick gentle sweep. Do not massage.
      • If you feel that having wrinkles is not bad, try stretching your skin to make them wrinkle free and have a look at your face. You do look younger. This would be your motivation to follow all the above mentioned points.

How to keep your nails long and strong?

Today, I would like to share with you some facts about nail care. Nails are dead cells growing out of our fingers. So, there are no nerves in the nails and that is why, we do not have any sensation in the nails. But, while clipping your nails, you should be careful enough not to dig into your skin. Nails have two parts to be cared for. One is the nail plate and the other is the cuticle area which provides a covering to the nail. The cuticle area has two types of skin. One skin is the dead skin which extends on to the nail and the other is live skin which folds around the dead skin. So, while pushing back the cuticles or clipping them during manicure, one should be very cautious not to hurt the live skin. This live skin protects our nails from the nail infections. This was the overview of the nail structure. Now, I would like to share some tips to keep your nails long and strong and more importantly, the nails clean.

      • Dip your nails in olive oil (or your choice of oil) once a week. This is irrespective of the fact that you are doing manicure or not. Oil keeps your nails strong and the skin around the nails moisturized. It prevents the skin from cracking and peeling around the nail edges (which is very prominent in some people). If you can't dip it in oil, take a generous quantity of oil and massage your nails and cuticles with it. You can even do this daily with a drop of oil. This is a great tip for brittle nails. You can use jojoba oil in place of olive oil. It works great.
      • Once a week, you can take some baking powder on a brush tip and start brushing your nails. That will turn your nails white and remove any odd colors on your nail.
      • Instead of clipping your nails, file them. But, file them in only one direction. If you do it in both direction, your nails get ragged and do not look good.
      • Do not use false nails. Better try growing your own nails.
      • Leave your nails free of any nail paint at least twice in a month.
      • While doing manicure to your hands, do not forget to take care of your nails. Do not let your nails dry. Moisturize them every time you apply moisturizer to your hands.
      • Your nails show your health just like your hair. So, good nutrition will keep them pink. Improve your diet to include more proteins and vitamins which are important for both hair and nails. Generally, the growth of nails and hair are a lot interdependent.
      • Since, the nails are just dead cells. So, there is no nail mask which you can apply. But, yes, you can whiten them in the same way you whiten your teeth. Rub lemon juice or strawberries. But, do not forget to apply oil afterward as they are very drying for nails.
      • You can place your nails in a bowl of milk. This would improve the look of your nails. This would serve as a proper manicure.

      Benefits of Orange on Skin

      [Source:elements4health.com]
This fruit belongs to the citrus family and is best know for its astringent and toning properties. Oranges are a good source of Vitamin C which is known to improve the skin texture and color. They help restoring collagen in our body which is responsible for skin firming and preventing early aging of skin. So, daily serving of citrus fruits helps our body fight aging.
      • After eating orange, instead of throwing away the peels, dry them in sun and grind them. Store the mixture. And, use it as a body scrub.

Use 'Sunnipindi' on you or your baby

Today, I would be sharing with you a very old age home remedy for glowing skin. 'Sunnipindi' is the powdered form of dried green gram dal (mung dal in Hindi). I am not very sure that you can get this powdered form in the market easily. So, time to make it. Not to worry. Its not a very difficult thing. Buy preferred quantity of green gram dal (with 'chilka' or its outer skin covering). It will be green in color as shown in the image.

Method: Air dry them in direct sun light. Grind them to get powdered green gram dal.You should mix 1/4 quantity of rice to the total quantity of green gram dal while grinding. You can include turmeric in the mixture. Remember to use the turmeric sticks instead of the commercially available packets.

      Application:
      1. Use it as a face scrub. Mix it with water, milk or honey and apply on face and body. It gives you glowing skin and removes all blemishes within a very short period. And, also removes facial hair. 'Sunnipindi is more effective that 'Besan'.
      2. Use this mixture instead of soap while having bath. It is completely natural and a very old custom.
      3. You should use this on babies too. Using it on babies removes the roots of their body hairs before they get strong and your babies will grow hairless (on body).
      4. And, if you do not feel like using it everyday, you can use it weekly once. Oil your whole body nicely and stay for 30 minutes to 1 hour before bath. Then use the mixture to scrub your body. You should use this mixture without diluting it in water. Or, you can mix it in milk and then use it as a whole body scrub.

      A refreshing homemade face spray

So, as the summers draw close, we all need to gear up for combating the hot and scorching days and keep our skin looking fresh and supple as ever. So, I would like to share with you the recipe for a refreshing face spray which can be used to make your skin feel look supple all day long.

      Ingredients:
      - 2 cups Boiling water (distilled, bottled or filtered water)
      - 1 Vitamin E tablet (preservative)
      - Lemon peels (any citrus fruit peels)
      Method:
Mix the vitamin E oil in the boiled water. Put the peels in a bowl and pour the freshly boiled water and let it stay overnight. Pour the mixture next morning in a spray bottle and your face spray is ready. Make small batches to ensure the freshness. You can also mix your favorite essential oils. You might also improvise by adding fresh rose, lavender or jasmine petals with the peels. And, you can also add Aloevera gel taken straight from the plant. It would be better if you do not add anything commercial as the product is homemade and without preservatives. Do not forget to shake the bottle every time before use.

      Benefits of Papaya for skin

Well, I talked about the benefits of Apple on skin last time. Today, I would be talking about another very nutritious fruit "Papaya". Papaya is the best bet when it comes to skin care. It is a good source of Vitamin A and papain. Vitamin A acts as an anti-oxidant, while the papain breaks down inactive proteins and removes dead skin cells. The best feature of the fruit is its low sodium quality.Since the salt content is less, the water retention is also little. The result is an overall hydrated skin.
      • Papaya is abundant in anti-oxidants due to the huge concentration of Vitamin A
      • 'Papain' in Papaya is helpful in removing the dead skin cells so applying papaya on the skin will exfoliate your skin in the most gentle and natural way
      • Use mashed papaya for cracked and sore heels
      • Rub the Papaya peel on your face after eating the papaya. Let it stay for no more than 5 minutes and wash off with cold water. The AHA's (alpha-hydroxy acids), which are the most coveted ingredients of today for their anti-aging properties, are in abundance in Papaya which makes it an acidic fruit. If you apply Papaya for more time, it would cause dryness and might even irritate sensitive skins.
      • Papaya is a great skin-firming and anti-aging mask. Mash the uneaten Papaya with or without milk and apply on your face. It helps in removing blemishes, dark spots, evens out your skin tone and brings a glow to your face.
      • Papaya is, again, a natural exfoliator.
      • Mix mashed Papaya with honey for a hydrating skin mask.
